About Dr. Ray
Dr. Ray is a Long Island native and attended SUNY Albany where he earned his BS in Biology. He subsequently went on to Veterinary School at Ross University, where he completed his pre-clinical studies followed by his clinical training at The Ohio State University. While completing his clinical training, he completed rehabilitation/sports medicine externships at different institutions including: Long Island Veterinary Specialists, North Carolina State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and MedVet Medical and Cancer Center for Pets in Ohio.
He then began practicing general veterinary medicine and surgery at a private practice in Long Beach, NY. During his first year of practice he completed training at the Canine Rehab Institute where he became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.
After witnessing the power of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and integrative vet care on his patients, Dr. Ray began his study of veterinary acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Florida. He became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) through the Chi University.
Dr. Ray has completed the CAETA (Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy) euthanasia master program to refine his techniques. The course is described as expert training in the art of gentle euthanasia. These skills have helped to shape the way Dr. Ray performs end of life care. Through this course he has become a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian (CPEV).
Dr. Ray’s professional interests include pain management in osteoarthritis, Intervertebral Disk Disease(IVDD), and non-surgical management of cranial cruciate ligament tears.
When Dr. Ray isn’t practicing veterinary medicine he is relaxing with his miniature pinscher named Hannibal (the inspiration for our logo!), hiking, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and visiting new breweries.
